Orin is designed to collect as little as possible. Your birth data stays on your device unless you choose to send it to us.
What we collect
Orin's readings run entirely in your browser. When you enter a birth date, time, or location, the calculation happens on your device — the values are not sent to our servers.
If you opt to save your birth data for convenience (so you don't re-enter it), we store it in your browser's localStorage. This information stays on your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing your site data.
We use your browser's timezone setting to anchor the solar-term boundaries used in your chart. No location coordinates or IP geolocation are collected.
What we don't collect
We do not collect: your name, email, phone number, address, or payment information. Orin is currently free to use and requires no account.
We do not track individual users, sell data, or share information with third parties.
Analytics
We may use privacy-first, aggregate analytics (such as Vercel Analytics or Plausible) to understand which pages are visited. These tools do not use cookies or collect personally identifiable information.
Cookies
Orin does not use tracking cookies. localStorage is used only to remember your birth data on your device, as described above.
Your rights
Because we don't store your personal data on our servers, there is no account to close and no request to file to have data deleted.
If you wish to clear the birth data saved in your browser, clear your site data for orinastro.com through your browser settings.
Future changes
If we introduce features that require collecting information — such as email subscriptions for annual readings or paid reports — this policy will be updated with clear notice, and we will only collect what is necessary for the feature you choose to use.
